About me

My name is Laura van Houtum and I am the face behind Hout Interiors. I was born in the Netherlands and now live in beautiful Mijas, on the Costa del Sol. My passion for interior design really came to life when I emigrated to Spain.

After all, many houses in Spain are sold furnished. Not to mention the possible language barrier and finding suitable suppliers and professionals. This, of course, makes it super tricky to turn this into an atmospheric and personal place.

I decided that this should be easier and took a course to become an interior designer.

Of course, it is important to feel completely at home in a ‘foreign’ country. To have a place you feel completely at ease and proud of. Whether it's your holiday home or your first home.

My mission is to create your dream home in Spain, in your own language, without worries and with a concrete plan.

My strength lies in designing an overall picture. I find it important that a house not only looks beautiful, but is also functional.

When you work with me, I share all my knowledge of the local interior world with you and, if you wish, I will also guide you in the execution. This way, you can be sure that your interior is right down to the last detail.
